It has been revealed that Reiyo Matsumoto , who gained attention for her role in the special effects drama " Kamen Rider Gotchard " (2023-24), will appear in the drama series "Nande Watashi ga Kami Serkkyo" (NTV, Saturday 9pm), which will start on April 12th and star Alice Hirose. She will play Kobayakawa Mai, a student in class 2-10, where the main character, Reimi Shizuka (Hirose), is the homeroom teacher. It has also been announced that Kohaku Shida, known for her roles in "Boutarou Sentai Don Brothers" (TV Asahi, 2022-23), will play Ando Yurina, another student in class 2-10. The special effects heroines will appear together.
The drama is a school entertainment with a "lecturing" theme, with an original script by Okura, who has worked on " Nursing Aide At Your Side" and "Yips". The story follows a Japanese teacher who reluctantly became a high school teacher, and while he plans to avoid trouble and not get too involved, he soon finds himself embroiled in the affairs of his problematic students, and finds himself in a situation where he has to lecture them, even though he doesn't want to.
Matsumoto plays Mai Kobayakawa, a member of the top-tier group in her class. She is the most beautiful girl in her class and her mother is the president of the parent-teacher association. She is actually dating a university student.
Matsumoto said, "I want to face Mai in my own way and cherish the time I spend living as Mai. Yurina Ando, played by Shida, is a member of the dance club who doesn't want to be bound by rules and goes her own way. She secretly likes Rintaro Hata (played by Hitonari Hamura).
Shida commented, "This is a school drama with the theme of 'preaching,' which hasn't been done much before, so I would like to carefully portray the honest words that the unpretentious Shizuka-sensei wants to convey, while also facing the role and myself.The role is also one I've never played before, so I'm very excited about this new challenge.I hope you will look forward to the broadcast."
Other cast members announced as students include Toyoshima Hana, Mizusawa Rintaro, Kiyono Asahime, Arai Miu, Hayashi Yuta, Yoshida Haruto, and Shimamura Ryunosuke.
