It has been announced that the total number of copies of the comics including the digital version of "RuriDragon," a manga by Masaoki Mato, which is currently being serialized in the digital version of "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), will exceed 850,000 copies. The latest volume 3 of the comic will be released on March 4th, and will exceed 850,000 copies in total. The work has been a hot topic, winning first place in the "Recommended Comics 2023 Selected by Booksellers Nationwide" and second place in the web manga category of the "Next Manga Awards 2024."
To commemorate the release of the latest volume 3, a special PV in collaboration with illustrator and animation artist coalowl and the band "Zutomayo" has been released on YouTube. All regular subscribers to the digital version of "Weekly Shonen Jump" will receive a T-shirt and tote bag featuring an original illustration by coalowl. Applications will be accepted from 1:00 pm on March 3rd until the 24th.
"RuriDragon" began serialization in the 28th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump (on sale June 13th) of 2022 after a one-shot was published in Jump GIGA 2021 WINTER (published by the same publisher on December 28th, 2020). It has been serialized every other issue in the digital version of Weekly Shonen Jump since April 22nd, 2024. It depicts the laid-back daily life of Aoki Ruri, a high school student who is a "dragon girl" who wakes up one morning with a horn growing out of her head.
