The winners of the 15 main awards and Best New Actor awards for the 48th Japan Academy Film Prize were announced on January 21st, with the five films selected for the Best Picture award being "Kingdom: Return of the General," "Samurai Time Slipper," "True Identity," "All at Dawn," and "The Last Mile."
The awards were established to promote the advancement of Japanese cinema art, technology, and science, and are decided by votes from the members of the Japan Academy Prize Association. This year's selection covers films released between January 1 and December 31, 2024. Shinichi Hatori and Sakura Ando will be the hosts.
