Former Japanese national soccer team member Yoshito Okubo will be a guest on the variety show "Ogiyahagi's Car History NO CAR, NO LIFE!" (BS Nippon TV), which will air from 9:00 p.m. on January 18th.
The show is a car talk variety show in which the comedy duo Ogiyahagi explores the lives of their guests by tracing their "car history."
Okubo appeared in his current car, the Mercedes-AMG S63 4MATIC Coupe, and Ken Yahagi said, "He really does look good in a tough car." Okubo joined the J-League from the prestigious Kunimi High School (Nagasaki Prefecture) and bought his first car with the allowance he received. It was a luxury car from Germany, but he says he had some terrible trouble after it was delivered.
The program also featured the Nissan Bluebird that Okubo's father used to drive. Okubo revealed, "You know, he would just touch the glass. (My father) would get mad," and said that when he was a boy, he would have a debriefing session with his father while riding in the car.
After playing abroad, he came back to Japan and bought his dream car, a Porsche. He says his father also had words for him about this, and shares many anecdotes that show the bond between father and son.
