It was announced on January 15th that Masaaki Sakai and Hiroshi Tamaki will appear as "special guests" in the drama series "Private Banker" (TV Asahi, Thursdays 9pm) starring Toshiaki Karasawa. Sakai will play the role of Yasuo Hisamatsu, a political heavyweight who takes an interest in Subaru (Uronta Yoshida), the second son of the wealthy Tenguuji family and a member of parliament.
Tamaki will play Hiroki, the husband of Saori (Anna Tsuchiya), the eldest daughter of the Tenmiyaji family who has married into the family, and an executive of the Tenmiyaji Aina Group. He believes that Mikoto (Mari Natsuki), the vice president and absolute authority of the Tenmiyaji family, has high expectations of him, and although he works hard at his job, he is mocked behind his back as "Tenmiyaji's dog."
Regarding his appearance in this production, Sakai said, "I have known Karasawa for a long time, but we have not had the opportunity to work together until now. Nevertheless, I am now starring in a drama in which he is the lead, and I hope I can be of some help to him. In this production, I play Hisamatsu, a prominent politician. I always keep an eye on the social situation, and as I interpret the character in my own way, I have seen many politicians who served as models for Hisamatsu, so I used some of them as inspiration."
Tamaki commented, "Actually, I happened to know someone who was a private banker, so I knew about them, but I thought it was very interesting that the focus was on 'private bankers,' which are not well known in the world. I was really looking forward to filming because it would be the first time I'd worked with Karasawa again in a while." He appealed, "The character I play, Hiroki, who married into the Tenguuji family, is not someone who can say what he wants to say and is not someone who lives by valuing his own feelings, but I hope everyone will watch to see what Hiroki will value and what he will become attached to in the future."
The drama is an original story that focuses on "private bankers," "money professionals" who advise the wealthy on how to manage and build their assets. This is a thrilling money suspense drama in which Koichi Anno (played by Karasawa), a skilled private banker with overwhelming financial knowledge and a wide network of contacts, brilliantly solves the various financial problems of wealthy families. The first episode, which aired on the 9th, ranked first overall on TVer, and the number of missed broadcasts has exceeded 1.79 million views (measurement period: January 9th to 14th, Video Research survey).
