The second episode of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama , entitled "Yoshiwara Hosomi 'Ahh Oedo'", was broadcast on January 12th, and viewers were surprised by Koji Ishizaka Koji, who plays Matsudaira Takemoto.
"UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama, depicting the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have built the foundations of Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, known for "Drama 10 'Ooku'" which was broadcast on NHK two years ago and became a big hit.
In the second episode, Tsutaju (Yokohama) comes up with an idea to attract people back to Yoshiwara using the Yoshiwara guidebook "Yoshiwara Saimin."
In order to get the Edo famous Hiraga Gennai (Ken Yasuda Ken) to write the preface for Hosomi, he goes to consult with the local book wholesaler Urokogataya Magobei (Kataoka Ainosuke). He is told that if he can persuade Gennai himself, he will promise to publish the work, so he rushes to find him... and so the story unfolds.
Matsudaira Takemoto served three generations of shoguns, Yoshimune, Ieshige, and Ieharu (played by Hidekazu Mashima), and was called the "Grandpa of the Nishinomaru" by Ieharu, and was the "Chief Elder of the Council of Elders." He was also the lord of Tatebayashi Domain in Kozuke Province, and was called "Ukon no Shogen" (Ukon's General) due to his official rank, and was highly respected. He was the "Grandpa of the Nishinomaru" and the Chief Elder of the Council of Elders.
In the same episode, Tanuma Okitsugu(Ken Watanabe) said, "Everything in this world is now gold. No matter what you do, money will come in," and stressed the importance of silver mining, saying, "We just need to create new gold and let the samurai regain control of it." But Takemoto would not listen. "Every time you open your mouth, it's all gold, gold, gold, like a merchant," he said, and rejected Okitsugu's idea, saying, "Shame on you!"
