Kento Yamazaki:"I hope to shed my skin and become a better person" - a goal unique to the Year of the Snake

Actor Kento Yamazaki attended the "Ninja Confidential Reporting Session" event for his starring movie "Under Ninja" (directed by Fukuda Yuichi, released on the 24th) held in Tokyo on January 6th. He spoke of his New Year's resolution in his own unique way, saying, "I want to shed my skin like a snake and become a good person."

"Under Ninja" is a manga by Hanazawa, who is known for "I Am a Hero" and other works, and is currently being serialized in "Young Magazine" (Kodansha). Set in a world where ninjas, who are said to have disappeared after the war, are still active in the present day, the story follows a low-ranking ninja, Kumogakure Kuro, who lives a life almost like a NEET, as he throws himself into an important "ninja mission". Yamazaki plays Kuro, and Hamabe Minami plays Noguchi Ayaka, the heroine who gets caught up in the ninjas' battle.

When asked by the moderator about his New Year's resolutions, Yamazaki began by saying, "In 2025, I want to be like a ninja..." referring to the title of the film, but then quickly changed course, saying, "Like a snake... it's the year of the snake, so let's go with snake." He continued, "Like a snake, I want to shed my skin repeatedly and live my life so that I can become a good person."

On this day, it was announced that the film's first public appearance would be at its world premiere in Hollywood, Los Angeles, the holy land of film. Yamazaki, who will be representing the film alongside Hamabe, said enthusiastically, "I want to take Under Ninja to LA and make it known all over the world."

Also appearing at the event were Hamabe, Mamiya Shotaro, Shiraishi Mai, Yamamoto Chihiro, Ryubi Miyase, Muro Tsuyoshi, Okayama Amane, and Hirata Mitsuru.
