Shura no Toki:New chapter "Abe no Seimei Arc" begins serialization in "Monthly Shonen Magazine" celebrating its 50th anniversary

A new chapter, "Abe no Seimei Arc," of "Mutsu Enmei-ryu Gaiden Shura no Toki," a spin-off of Masatoshi Kawahara's popular fighting manga "Shura no Mon," began serialization in the February issue of "Monthly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), released on January 6th. Going back in history from the legend of Shuten-doji depicted in the previous work, "Shuten-doji Arc," the story is set in an era when people fear demons and are terrified of curses, and a person seeking a strong person and an onmyoji seeking reason meet. The new chapter of "Shura no Toki" has begun in the magazine, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025.

The new chapter appeared on the cover of the issue with the caption, "Resonant prayers announce the opening -- a magnificent 81 pages of new content!!"

"Shura no Mon" is a manga that depicts Mutsu Tsukumo, the successor of the legendary undefeated school of martial arts, Mutsu Enmei-ryu, as he risks his life to fight against the strongest men in his quest to become the strongest in the world.

"Shura no Toki" is a manga that depicts the relationship between the practitioners of the Mutsu Enmei-ryu school of martial arts, Tsukumo's ancestors, and historically renowned martial arts masters such as Yagyu Jubei and Sakamoto Ryoma, and was made into a TV anime in 2004. The first work in the series, "Miyamoto Musashi Arc," began in 1989, and since then, "The Stormy Bakumatsu Arc," "American West Arc," "Oda Nobunaga Arc," "Showa Arc," "Shuten Doji Arc," and other works have been serialized.
