As a special program of TV Tokyo's popular program "God Tongue" (Saturday night 1:45), a TVer original project "He's Come to Seriously Sing!", which was broadcast on January 1st as "Comedian Serious Singing Championship", has started distribution. Comedian Ojin Ozbourne's Shinomiya Akira, who is performing a "serious song" in the project, shared his thoughts after finishing the recording.
--The recording of the "Majika Original Project" has just finished (at the time of the interview). First of all, how was it?
I'm glad I was able to sing it comfortably.
--What impression do you have of "God Tongue"?
I had been watching the show for a long time, but I never had the chance to appear on it, and I made my first appearance in the summer of 2024. I am very happy that my second appearance will be as TVer's original content.
--The "Alchemy" skit that was shown on "Netagirish NIGHT" aired on July 27, 2024, was a skit in which two English words were combined to create a new word. What was the reaction of those around you?
My wife, who never watches any of the programs I'm on, saw it (when it was aired) and said, "You've got a good one."
--It was a bold topic, but did you ever get in trouble? (laughs)
That's right. However, I was a little nervous because it was a joke I'd never performed anywhere before, so I had my son and daughter watch it beforehand. My son was laughing so hard his stomach hurt, so I thought, "Oh, this could work."
--This time, a more powerful version of that "alchemy" material was shown. I'm looking forward to seeing the reaction from the viewers. I think more people will try to imitate it.
That's right. I'd love for everyone to try it at New Year's parties and the like.
--You also had an exchange with Ogiyahagi-san on the show. What are your impressions of the two of them?
When I appeared on "God Tongue" before, Yahagi (Ken)'s child said that he was watching my Hyottoko act on YouTube. I had hardly had any contact with the two of them until then, but from then on I felt closer to them and was able to talk to them without feeling nervous.
--You can watch the program over and over again on TVer. What is the point of this "Majika Original Project" that you would like people to watch over and over again?
You might think, "I'm just talking dirty!" but I'm just being conscious of my English pronunciation. So, I want you to listen carefully to my pronunciation.
--It's a real song that can help you study English pronunciation.
It's learning. It's education. It's an educational song.
--Please give a message to TVer viewers.
I've been in the entertainment industry for 24 years, and it's no exaggeration to say that this song is the culmination of my career. I would be grateful if you would keep it in your ears. Thank you.
