The rock unit "B'z" appeared on the "75th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen" (General TV and others) broadcast on December 31st. As a special project, they performed "Illumination", the theme song for the currently airing Asadora drama "Omusubi", as well as "LOVE PHANTOM" and "Ultra Soul" as a surprise.
After singing "Illumination" in the studio, the two members of B'z walked slowly and appeared on the stage of the NHK Hall. They sang "LOVE PHANTOM" and "Ultra Soul" with great enthusiasm, and the venue was filled with excitement.
After the performance, host and announcer Suzuki Naoko apologized, saying, "There was a problem with B'z's microphone and some of the equipment just now. We apologize for the inconvenience."
Inaba's impressive singing ability, which didn't hint at the trouble, led to excited comments on social media such as, "B'z were so cool," "Even though there was a microphone problem, they remained unfazed, proving their singing ability is real!!!," "The Red and White Song Battle became legendary, even with the microphone trouble," and "I didn't even notice. I'm overwhelmed by the volume of Inaba's voice. It's the best, truly ultra soul."
