The 75th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen(general and other channels) was held at the NHK Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo, and kicked off at 7:20 pm on December 31st. This year, the performers gathered on stage and kicked off the event by singing the classic song "A Gift Without a Stamp." The song was arranged by Ryo Konishi, who is a music producer and musician with a wide range of activities.
At the beginning, host Hiroiki Ariyoshi commented, "I want to contribute to the program with dance, dance and more dance." First-time host Sari Ito said, "I was more nervous than I thought I would be, but everyone is so warm and welcoming, so I want to enjoy it." When asked, "You're relaxed, right?", third-time host Kanna Hashimoto replied with a wry smile, "Not relaxed," and called out, "I'm really excited, so I want to enjoy it with everyone."
The first act was from the Red Team with "ME:I". The final act was performed by Masaharu Fukuyama from the White Team, and the final act was performed by MISIA from the Red Team.
The 75th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen will be broadcast on December 31st from 7:20pm to 11:45pm (with some news breaks) under the theme of "Songs for You". The hosts will be Hiroiki Ariyoshi, Kanna Hashimoto, Sari Ito, and NHK announcer Naoko Suzuki.
