The BS12 TwellV program "Tsurube-chan and Sawako-chan: A Great Senior in the Showa Era and the Strange Two," which featured the late actress Meiko Nakamura, who passed away on December 31st last year at the age of 89, will be broadcast on December 31st at 6pm as "Meiko Nakamura One Year Memorial Special," which includes additional unreleased footage.
The program is a talk variety show hosted by Rakugo performer Shofutei Tsurube and essayist Agawa Sawako, and began in October last year. Tsurube, who has 52 years of showbiz experience, and Agawa, who has 40 years of showbiz experience, are called "Tsurube-chan" and "Sawako-chan," and are "great seniors of the Showa era." They appear as guests in each episode.
This time, about 30 minutes of "unreleased footage" will be added to the third episode (to be broadcast on November 6, 2023), which was recorded three months before Nakamura passed away. It will be a "90-minute permanent edition" full of precious episodes of Nakamura, a legend in the Showa era.
