Actor Yuika Motokariya starred in her first short drama, "Bad Girl," which began streaming on November 27th on the BUMP app, a 3-minute short drama distribution app. The drama is based on Eri Yoshikawa's mystery novel "Bad Girl Toudou Reika, Masked Days" (Asahi Bunko, 2023). It is a suspenseful story in which shocking facts are revealed one after another through the negotiations between the beautiful celebrity wife Toudou Reika (Motokariya), who has emerged as a suspect in a murder case, and the reporter Terada Riho (Kanai Miki). There are 20 episodes in total.
Motokariya commented about this work, "I think the highlight is how the depths of the heart of a woman who seems to be protected from various things and living a fluffy life without any inconvenience are gradually drawn out through the dialogue between her and her charming co-stars." "I think that Toudou Reika's otherworldly behavior has a fascinating power that makes viewers forget their daily lives. Although it may not seem that way at first glance, I believe that she is a loving and courageous woman, so I hope that viewers will be able to see through to that. I think that viewers who watch until the end will be able to see the bad girl Toudou Reika, who will not disappoint, even as she betrays their expectations," she said.
The drama also stars Kubota Yuuki as Tsujisawa, a former teacher who once caused a scandal, and Tanaka Taketo as Mizuki, a mysterious cafe owner who approaches Riho. The director is Mihogawa Osamu, known for the film "No Matter How Much My Mother Hates Me" (2018) and the drama "Drama W: Miyazawa Kenji's Dining Table" (2017).
