A scene from the first episode of the TV anime "Dandadan," based on the popular manga by Tatsuyuki Shinobu currently being serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump+," titled "That's the beginning of love," has been released. It depicts Momo (Ayase Momo) and Okarun (Takakura Ken) talking in a classroom, as well as the monster Turbo Granny and the Serpo aliens.
In the first episode, Momo, a high school girl born into a family of spiritual mediums, meets Okarun, her classmate who is an occult fanatic. The two start talking after Momo saves Okarun from a bully in their class, but they end up arguing, with Momo believing in ghosts but denying aliens, and Okarun believing in aliens but denying ghosts. In order to make each other believe in aliens and ghosts, which they both deny, Momo heads to the ruins of a hospital, a UFO spot, and Okarun heads to a tunnel, a haunted spot.
"Dandadan" is a manga by Ryu, who served as an assistant on the popular manga "Chainsaw Man" and "Hell's Paradise," and began serialization in "Shonen Jump+" in April 2021. It depicts Momo, a high school girl from a family of spiritualists, and her classmate Okarun, an occult fanatic, as they confront the mysteries that appear one after another. The comic has sold over 3.2 million copies in total. The total number of views on "Shonen Jump+" is over 440 million. The TV anime will be broadcast on the late-night anime slot "Super Animeism TURBO" on MBS/TBS from October 3rd.
