It has been announced that Lynn and Koki Uchiyama will be voicing characters in the TV anime "Hotaru no Yomeiri," based on the manga by Oreko Tachibana, known for "Promise Cinderella." Lynn will play Satoko Kirigaya, who was born into a prestigious family but has been given only a short time to live and is determined to live her life to the fullest, while Uchiyama will play Shinpei Goto, a hitman who meets Satoko and falls deeply in love with her.
Lynn commented, "When I read the original story, I was drawn to Satoko's unwavering determination to live, to achieve her dreams, and to never give up on her own feelings. I was captivated by Shinpei, who confronts madness and purity head-on. I strongly felt that I wanted to live in this story. Uchiyama said, "Shinpei Goto is a hitman who meets Countess Satoko Kirigaya through a certain incident. He is a complex character who shows many different sides, so I would like to portray him using various approaches. I will do my best so that not only fans of the original work but also those who are not yet familiar with 'Hotaru no Yomeiri' can enjoy it, so please look forward to it."
"Hotaru no Yomeiri" (Firefly's Wedding) is a manga serialized on Shogakukan's manga app "MangaONE". Set in the Meiji era, a time of rapid modernization, it is a story of "obsessive love" depicting the forbidden contract marriage between Kirigaya Satoko, a young lady with only a short time left to live who dreams of marrying into a prestigious family and becoming her father's pride, and Goto Shinpei, a hitman who dotes on Satoko. It has gained popularity, winning the Grand Prize at the "Everyone's Choice!! Electronic Comic Awards 2024", No. 1 in "Recommended Comics Selected by Bookstore Employees Nationwide 2024", and No. 3 in "Manga We Want to See Animated Ranking 2025". The cumulative sales of the comics have exceeded 4 million copies.
The anime will be directed by Takahiro Kamei and produced by david production. It will air on Fuji TV's anime block "Noitamina" starting in October.
