NHK's taiga drama "To You, Shining" starring Yoshitaka Yuriko has released a photo of Kentaro Ito in costume as Sojumaru, an original character for the drama.
After saving Fujiwara Kenko (Minami Sara) from a thief, Sojumaru starts frequenting her mansion and gets to know Mahiro (Murasaki Shikibu, Yoshitaka). He has his own ideas about the life of a warrior, and Kenko, who is interested in him, is drawn to him.
When the role was announced, Ito commented, "This is my first taiga drama, and I'm really looking forward to working with the staff, including Chief Producer Uchida Yuki, who helped me with "Ashi Girl" and "Scarlet," and acting with the other cast members."
"Because he's an original character, I think he's a very worthwhile character to play. I hope you'll look forward to seeing how Sojumaru gets involved in the story in the second half of "To You, Shining." I'll do my best."
