It has been announced that the TV anime "Hana wa Saku, Shura no Gotoku", based on the manga currently being serialized in "Ultra Jump" (Shueisha), will be broadcast on Nippon Television, BS Nippon Television and other networks from January 2025. Additional cast members have also been announced, including Izumi Fuka as Natsue Anzu, Chiba Shoya as Fuyuga Hagidai, Yamashita Seiichiro as Akiyama Matsuyuki, Yasuno Kiyono as Seii Ryoko, and Saka Taito as Hakoyama Setarou.

The manga is based on the original work by Takeda Ayano, known for the novel series "Sound! Euphonium", and has been serialized in "Ultra Jump" since June 2021. Set on Tonakijima, a small island with a population of 600, the story follows Haruyama Kana and other members of the broadcasting club as they deepen their love of reading aloud. Fujidera Mitsunori will play Haruyama Kana. The anime will be directed by Uwano Ayumu and produced by Studio Bind.

Izumi commented, "When I read this work during the audition, I found it so interesting that I read it over and over again. Among the parts, I really liked the character of An-chan because of her confidence and unwavering beliefs based on hard work, and her cuteness that gradually becomes apparent, so I'm really happy to have the opportunity to play her! I'll do my best to be just as determined as An-chan, so that I can properly convey An-chan's hard work and ability through music to everyone!" Chiba is enthusiastic, saying, "As someone who tries and tests what words and voices can convey, I was immediately drawn to it. I really wanted to be a part of this, so I'm very happy. I like the expression in the protagonist's reading scene. I came across the original work through the audition, and I was able to vividly feel the talent, the emotion that moves you without explanation, and the ability based on logic... the sense and realism that I personally value. I want to take on responsibility because I am a voice actor. The more I get to know Hagi Dai, the more I empathize with his honesty and uncompromising nature, and I want to use that to express him. Although his impression changes, I want to play him with consistency, regardless of how he appears." Yamashita said, "Because my job involves dealing with words and letters, I felt all the more immersed and moved when I read this work. Now that I'm a voice actor, I sometimes think, 'I wish I had had some experience with acting and expression when I was a student,' and it feels like I'm reliving that experience. The recording had the atmosphere of a broadcasting club. It was full of stimulation, discoveries, and learning, and since the character I play, Akiyama Matsuyuki, is a beginner in broadcasting and announcing, I approached it with the awareness that I was reviewing my own basics from scratch. I empathize and am touched by Hana's attitude of wanting to cherish her feelings even though she lacks confidence and courage, and the drama of each character's life is fascinating. I hope you will enjoy the original work as well. I look forward to working with you!" Yasuno said, "The character I will be playing, Seii Ryoko, is a girl whose love for the things she loves is as deep as the ocean. When I first read the original work, I intuitively thought, 'Ah, I want to play this girl.' I am truly happy that through a wonderful turn of events, I was blessed with the opportunity to play Ryoko. As a member of the Sumomogaoka High School Broadcasting Club. As a single reader who loves the classics. I hope to be able to convey the words with heart. I hope you will all support me!"

Saka said, "This work depicts competition in a world where there is no 'absolute answer' for voice or sound, and as I myself work as a voice actor, there were many things I could empathize with and sympathize with. All the characters have their own "passion" in the work, such as a love of recitation and a desire not to lose, so I think one of the good things about this work is that the empathy and sympathy for the characters can change completely depending on the viewer's circumstances and life experiences. "I'm very happy to be able to play Setarou, who is even more sensitive and has a slightly different position to the other broadcasting club members in this film, which is sensitive yet full of passion! I can't wait to see what kind of chemistry he will create with Hana and the other members of the broadcasting club!" he commented. ◇Staff (titles omitted)
