City Hunter:Suzuki Ryohei starring live-action Netflix film to be released in theaters from September 27th; audience members will receive a special postcard with original illustration by Hojo Tsukasa

It has been announced that the Netflix film "City Hunter," a live-action adaptation of Hojo Tsukasa's popular manga starring actor Suzuki Ryohei, will be screened in theaters from September 27th. It will be screened for two weeks only until October 10th at AEON Cinema Theatus Chofu (Chofu City, Tokyo) and AEON Cinema Theatus Shinsaibashi (Chuo Ward, Osaka). As a special gift to moviegoers, a postcard featuring an original illustration of Saeba Ryo drawn by the original author Hojo will be given away.

The film is set in Shinjuku in the Reiwa era and tells the story of the beginning of the "City Hunter" series, starring Saeba Ryo, Makimura Kaori, and Makimura Hideyuki. Suzuki will play Saeba Ryo, while Morita Nozomi will play the heroine Makimura Kaori, Ando Masanobu will play Ryo's partner and Kaori's older brother Makimura Hideyuki, and Kimura Fumino will play detective Nogami Saeko. It is currently streaming on Netflix.

"City Hunter" is a manga that began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) in 1985. It depicts the exploits of Ryo Saeba, the number one sweeper in the underworld, set in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The comic has sold a total of approximately 50 million copies.
