It has been announced that the TV anime "Is it a landmine? Chihara-san," based on the romantic comedy manga by Ryon currently serialized on the manga app "GANMA!", will be broadcast nationwide simultaneously every Thursday at 12:26 AM on the MBS/TBS anime block "Super Animeism TURBO" starting in January 2027. It has also been announced that Daisuke Ono will play Chinatsu Iwakura, Tomokazu Sugita will play Hibiya, and Daisuke Ono will play Kazami.
Uchida, who plays Iwakura Chinatsu, the best friend of Chihara Mai (Chihara), a high school girl rumored to be a troublemaker, commented on the work: "Chihara is both cute and approachable, so I think she's a lovable character. You have to see the subtle nuances of Chihara's heart! Chinatsu is Chihara's best friend, so there are many scenes with the two of them, and they talk a lot! Don't miss Chinatsu's free-spirited and sometimes reckless love!"
Sugita, who plays Hibiya, a friend of the protagonist Kuroki, commented on his reaction to hearing about the anime adaptation of "Is it a landmine, Chihara-san?" saying, "Is it Kaya○Mino-san? Oh, no, that's not it?" He described the appeal of the work as, "It's fun because the background characters are all voiced by promising young actors." He added, "I'll unleash the power of friendship to the fullest and do my best for Kuroki. I'm counting on you, Kuroki!!"
Ono, who plays Kazami, another friend of Kuroki, commented, "When I first heard that Suzushiro (Sayumi), who plays Chihara, and Ura (Kazuki), who plays Kuroki, were the main cast, I thought it would be quite difficult to play classmates. However, when I heard that my partner would be Sugita, all my worries disappeared at once. On set, while trying to maintain balance as the characters, we also deliberately disrupted that balance with ad-libs (laughs). In any case, we were able to act freely and have fun."
Regarding the film, she said, "I thought the title sounded rather ominous, but it's actually a story about a very delicate love, and I was really taken with that contrast. Chihara's awkwardness is adorable, and Kuroki's innocence is endearing. Both actors were perfectly in sync with their roles. I have nothing but positive feelings towards them."
It was also announced that a music project by the heroine, Chihara, will be launched. Chihara's best friend, Iwakura Chinatsu, will serve as general producer, fully producing "artist Chihara Mai," and a visual of Chihara in a gothic-style outfit based on red and black has been released. The original design for the outfit was created by Sano Natsumi, who has worked on styling for many voice actors and idols. A Teaser trailer was also released, and it was revealed that the first cover song of the project will be "Alien Alien" by Vocaloid producer NayutalieN, which will be released as a digital single on July 25th.
"Is it a landmine, Chihara-san?" is a romantic comedy that begins when the protagonist, Kuroki, and Chihara Mai (Chihara-san), a high school girl rumored to be a "landmine" type, end up sitting next to each other in class. It has gained popularity, with over 750 million total page views on "GANMA!".
The anime will be directed by Yasumasa Fujii, who was in charge of storyboarding and direction for " Teasing Master Takagi-san: The Movie," and produced by SynergySP.
