The key visual for the special event "Anime Haikyu!! 10tn Event - NEXT STEP -" of the "Anime Haikyu!! 10th Anniversary - Connecting - Project", a project commemorating the 10th anniversary of the TV anime "Haikyu!!", based on Haruichi Furudate's popular volleyball manga, has been released. The visual is a dynamic one, showing Hinata Shoyo, Kageyama Tobio, and their rivals running towards the future.
The cast of 14 amazing voice actors who will be appearing at the event has also been announced. In addition to Murase Ayumu, who will be playing Hinata Shoyo, and Ishikawa Kaito, who will be playing Kageyama Tobio, who have already been announced, Namikawa Daisuke, who will be playing Oikawa Tooru, Yoshino Hiroyuki, who will be playing Iwaizumi Hajime, from Seijoh Academy High School, Kaji Yuki, who will be playing Kozume Kenma, and Ishii Mark, who will be playing Haibane Lev, from Nekoma High School, will appear. Matsukawa Hiroki, who will be playing Aone Takanobu, and Nakazawa Masato, who will be playing Futakuchi Kenji, will also appear from Date Tech High School. Appearing from Fukurodani Academy will be Kimura Ryohei as Bokuto Kotaro and Osaka Ryota as Akaashi Kyoji, from Shiratorizawa Academy will be Takeuchi Ryota as Ushijima Wakatoshi and Tsuchiya Shinba as Goshiki Takumi, and from Inarizaki High School will be Miyano Mamoru as Miya Atsumu and Kabumoto Hideaki as Miya Osamu.
The bands who have performed the theme songs for the anime, SPYAIR and BURNOUT SYNDROMES, will also be appearing and performing live on stage.
The event will be held at Ariake Arena (Koto-ku, Tokyo) on March 2, 2025. It will be divided into two parts, a day session and an evening session, with the evening session being live-streamed.
"Haikyu!!" was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from February 2012 to July 2020. The story follows Hinata Shoyo, who suffered a crushing defeat in his final official match in middle school, as he reunites with Kageyama Tobio, a member of the opposing team, at the Karasuno High School volleyball team, where they move on to aim for the top together. The series has sold over 60 million copies in total.
The first season of the TV anime aired from April to September 2014, the second from October 2015 to March 2016, the third from October to December 2016, and the first cour of the fourth season from January to April 2020, and the second cour from October to December the same year. The first part of the new film version "Haikyu!! The Movie FINAL" series, "Haikyu!! The Movie: Battle at the Dump", was released in February and was a huge hit, grossing over 20 billion yen worldwide.
