A special short anime, " I am a hero too," based on the manga by Kohei Horikoshi serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), has been produced and will be released this summer. The anime will be an adaptation of a special one-shot story drawn specifically for the manga, which will be included in the " My Hero Academia Ultra age" fan book (Shueisha) to be released in December 2024. The story will focus on a young girl named Eri. Further details regarding the release date and media will be announced at a later date.
The anime "No.170+1 'More'", based on chapter 431 "More" from the final volume 42 of the manga, aired on May 2nd, and it was announced that "I am a hero too" will be produced as the second anime adaptation of a manga drawn by Horikoshi.
"I am a hero too" is a story that focuses on Eri, the girl Deku rescued from Overhaul (Chisaki Kai), the young leader of the Shie Hassaikai, during the Hero Intern/Shie Hassaikai arc of the fourth season of the TV anime. Eight years after Deku and his friends graduated from U.A. High School, Eri, now a high school student herself, visits U.A. High School one day and is shown once again pursuing her dreams. The anime is said to have special effects prepared for this episode.
"My Hero Academia" was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from July 2014 to August 2024. It is set in a world where approximately 80% of the population possesses superpowers called Quirks, and depicts the story of Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, as he strives to become the greatest hero. The manga has sold over 100 million copies worldwide.
The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2016, the second season from March to September 2017, the third season from April to September 2018, the fourth season from October 2019 to April 2020, the fifth season from March to September 2021, the sixth season from October 2022 to March 2023, and the seventh season from May to October 2024. The final chapter, "FINAL SEASON," aired from October to December 2025.
