NHK E-TV's information variety program for junior and senior high school students, "Numa ni Hamatte Kiitemita (Numa Hama)," will air an episode titled "Junior and Senior High School Students Who Dedicate Their Youth to Tokusatsu (Special Effects)" on April 18th at 8 PM.
In the program, comedian Akira Shinomiya, a big fan of special effects, conducts an impromptu interview with a middle school student creator who uses clay and a 3D printer to make original monster movies. There is a scene where everyone in the studio is thrilled by the impressive latest work created using stop-motion animation.
The program goes behind the scenes at the "Special Effects School" in Sukagawa City, Fukushima Prefecture, the hometown of Eiji Tsuburaya, the creator of Ultraman and other special effects.
