The world's largest anime event, "AnimeJapan 2026," opened on March 28th at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto Ward, Tokyo). Following the previous event which recorded over 150,000 visitors, this year's event is the largest ever, taking place in East Exhibition Halls 4-8, South Exhibition Halls 1-4, and the rooftop exhibition area of Tokyo Big Sight. More than 120 companies, the largest number ever, are exhibiting, including Aniplex, KADOKAWA, TOHO animation, Bandai Namco Filmworks, Toei Animation, and DMM.com. The idol group "Sakurazaka46" is once again serving as ambassador, which has also generated considerable buzz.
AnimeJapan is an event that has been held since 2014, and this year marks its 13th edition. There will be four stages, including the largest RED Stage, which will host stage events for popular works, as well as the GREEN Stage, BLUE Stage, and WHITE Stage, with a total of 50 events taking place over two days, March 28th and 29th.
Events will be held for popular and話題-generating works such as "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Kimetsu no Jujutsu Kaisen," "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, " "Oshi no Ko," and "Re:Zero," as well as theatrical anime films being produced for "Is the Order a Rabbit?" and "Sgt. Frog," and new anime series being produced for "Magic Knight Rayearth" and "Fist of the North Star," with the star-studded voice actors and staff of each work making appearances.
Public days will be held on March 28th and 29th, business days on March 30th and 31st, and the "Family Anime Festa 2026" for families and children will be held on March 28th and 29th.
