To commemorate the release of the tribute album "Singing Ghibli Part 2," in which artists cover songs from Studio Ghibli films, it has been announced that a special concert will be held at Tokyo International Forum Hall A (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) on March 13th, and will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW in May.
This album is the second in the "Singing Ghibli" series and was produced by Takebe Satoshi, one of Japan's leading music producers, who was in charge of the music for "From Up on Poppy Hill" and "Earwig and the Witch." Following on from the previous album, a special concert will be held at the Tokyo International Forum on March 13th and at Grand Cube Osaka (Kita-ku, Osaka) on March 20th. A stellar lineup of artists will come together, and Takebe's arrangements will breathe new life into Studio Ghibli's classic songs.
The artists performing (in alphabetical order) are Sakura Ohara, Tokiko Kato, Kalafina, GLIM SPANKY, Shiori Tamai (Momoiro Clover Z), Shintaro Namioka and Maho Oshima (Penthouse), Takahisa Masuda, and Win Morisaki.
WOWOW will broadcast and stream the concert held at the Tokyo International Forum in May, titled "Produced by Takebe Satoshi: Singing Ghibli - Part 2." After the broadcast and streaming ends, the archive will be available to watch for one month on WOWOW On Demand.
