The drama is based on the novel of the same name (Kadokawa Bunko/KADOKAWA) by popular author Takeaki Daimon. It depicts the struggle of lawyers who attempt an impregnable retrial request to save a death row inmate accused of the brutal murder of a family that took place in Gujo Hachiman, Gifu Prefecture, 25 years ago. The drama will be directed by Yusaku Matsumoto, who garnered attention for his realistic and sensitive portrayal of a real-life incident in the film "Winny" (2023).
