It has been announced that the TV anime series "The Brave Scum," based on the light novel by Rocket Shokai, which won the grand prize in the modern action category of the "1st Kakuyomu Web Novel Contest," will be broadcast nationwide on Nippon TV every Saturday at 12:55 a.m. starting January 10, 2026. It will be broadcast over two consecutive seasons.
It was also announced that Tadokoro Haruka will be playing Joe in Salt, Hirakawa Daisuke will be playing Ishino in the Music Store, and Takato Yasuhiro will be playing Marta in the Undercover, and that TOOBOE will be performing the opening theme for the first season, "GUN POWDER," and Murasaki Kon will be performing the ending theme for the first season, "Mental Rental."
"The Hero's Scum" is set in mid-21st century Tokyo, under the control of a mafia gang that has been transformed into demon kings through ether (magical power) strengthening surgery. The lethal acts of heroes who oppose the demon kings have been legalized, making "murder" a profession. A scumbag master and self-proclaimed disciple, freelance hero Yashiro and apprentice hero high school girl Jogamine, become embroiled in a nasty incident.
