On November 21st, a stage greeting was held in Tokyo for the opening day of the animated feature film " Scarlet, " the latest work by director Mamoru Hosoda, known for such works as "The Girl Who Leapt Summer Wars ." Ashida Mana, the voice actress for the main character Scarlet, appeared. In celebration of the film's release, Ashida said, "I'm happy that today has been a successful release."
Ashida plays Scarlett, a princess who is burning with revenge against the enemy who killed her father. Ashida said she "threw herself into the role," and shared her thoughts, saying, "I think this film gave me strength from Scarlett, who lives her life to the fullest. I think the emotions that Scarlett is carrying that bind us are emotions that everyone has felt at least once, but I believe that it is a free right to have hope for tomorrow even in an uncertain future, and I think this film will allow everyone who watches it to embrace the Scarlett that lies within them. I would like everyone who is involved in life to see it."
The event featured a star-studded cast of voice actors, including Masaki Okada, Yakusho Koji, Saito Yuki, Matsushige Yutaka, Emoto Tokio, Aoki Munetaka, Sometani Shota, and Shirayama Noa, as well as director Hosoda.
Director Hosoda wrote the original story and screenplay for the latest film. After her father was killed and her revenge failed, Scarlett once again attempts to exact revenge on her nemesis in the Land of the Dead. The Land of the Dead is a place where if Scarlett does not achieve her revenge on her nemesis and reach the "endless place," she will become nothing and disappear, and so she embarks on an endless journey of revenge. Actor Ashida plays the main character, Scarlett, while Okada plays Hijiri, a modern-day Japanese nurse who travels with Scarlett.
