On November 21st, voice actor Koji Yakusho appeared on stage to greet the audience on the opening day of the latest animated feature film "Summer Wars Scarlet," directed by Mamoru Hosoda, known for films such as "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" and "Summer Wars." Yakusho plays Claudius, the nemesis of the main character, Scarlet, played by Mana Ashida, and said with a wry smile, "Apparently, we recorded something that the director had spent four years making in just one day. I thought it would have taken longer, but I guess my hourly wage is a bit high."
Director Hosoda praised Yakusho's acting, saying, "Towards the end, the booth was so hot that Yakusho was sweating. I remember him acting with incredible power."
The event featured a star-studded cast of voice actors, including Ashida, Masaki Okada, Saito Yuki, Matsushige Yutaka, Emoto Tokio, Aoki Munetaka, Sometani Shota, and Hakusan Noa.
Director Hosoda wrote the original story and screenplay for the latest film. After her father was killed and her revenge failed, Scarlett once again attempts to exact revenge on her nemesis in the Land of the Dead. The Land of the Dead is a place where if Scarlett does not achieve her revenge on her nemesis and reach the "endless place," she will become nothing and disappear, and so she embarks on an endless journey of revenge. Actor Ashida plays the main character, Scarlett, while Okada plays Hijiri, a modern-day Japanese nurse who travels with Scarlett.
