Hell Mode starring Tomokazu Sugita, Shoya Chiba, and Marie Miyake

Additional cast members for the TV anime adaptation of the popular light novel and comic book "Hell Mode: A hardcore gamer becomes unrivaled in an abandoned alternate world" have been announced, revealing that Tomokazu Sugita, Shoya Chiba, and Marie Miyake will appear.

Sugita will play Butler von Granvel, the head of the Granvel family; Chiba will play Mihai Granvel, the eldest son of the Granvel family who has solid swordsmanship skills but is a humble and gentle character who never shows off his abilities to those around him; and Miyake will play Thomas Granvel, the second son of the Granvel family who has a slightly selfish personality.

Sugita commented, "He has both the face of a lord and the face of a father. It's nice to play the way he interacts with his family without ever putting his life on the line. I hope the viewers will feel relieved that there is someone they can rely on. Thank you very much."

Chiba said, "Mihai is loved by his younger brothers and sisters, and is trusted by his family. He is a very refreshing and beautiful boy. He has the image of being more reliable than his age. Even from the protagonist's perspective, he is a strong character, so I tried to play him in a positive way, while also making sure to convey his youth and potential to grow. He is a man who cares deeply for his family, so I focused on putting kindness and love into each and every line."

Miyake commented, "Thomas is the son of the Granvelle family and Cecil's older brother. He is still unreliable and immature, but I am playing the role while taking in what I can see from his relationship with Cecil as brother and sister, and how he deals with the Granvelle family and his talent. Personally, I am looking forward to seeing how he will grow together with Allen and the others!"

The story revolves around Yamada Kenichi, an avid online gamer, who selects the highest difficulty level, "Hell Mode," on the difficulty setting screen of a mysterious online game, and is reincarnated as a serf in another world. Reincarnated as a young boy named Allen, Kenichi uses his mysterious talent as a "summoner" to grope his way to becoming the strongest in a challenging other world. The series has sold over 2.5 million copies. The anime will be directed by Tamagawa Masato and produced by Tanimura Yokohama Animation Lab. Allen will be played by Tamura Mutsumi. It will air on TOKYO MX, MBS, and BS Nippon TV from January 2026.
