The second episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama "The Royal Family" (Sundays at 9pm), starring Satoshi Tsumabuki, will be broadcast on October 19th.
In the previous episode... Kurisu (Tsumabuki), a tax accountant, discovered that Kinjo, secretary to Kozo (Koichi Sato) of Royal Human Company, had been embezzling funds for the past five years and reported the matter to the company's staff. Kurisu's actions saved Kozo and his 10 horses, who had been forced to withdraw from the horse racing business. However, Kurisu himself decided to resign from his tax accountant's office.
Later, Kurisu is called by Kozo to Niigata Racecourse and is allowed into the horse's box. Kurisu is thanked by the trainer and the ranch owner, Hayashida (Omi Toshinori).
After revealing to Kozo that her father had died a year ago, Kurisu burst into tears and said, "I'm sure you already had a premonition when you asked me to come back. But I ended up betraying my father." Kozo gently said, "I don't hate people who can't get over the death of their father." He then invited Kurisu, saying, "Do you want to come to my place? You don't have anywhere else to go, do you? Then come."
Episode 2: After joining Royal Human, Kurisu immediately becomes the full-time secretary for the horse racing division, but one of her responsibilities is to deal with Kozo's wife, Kyoko (Kuroki Hitomi), who hates horse racing.
One day, Kozo's eldest son, Yutaro (Kotaro Koizumi), citing dissatisfaction among the younger employees, pressures Kozo to disband the horse racing division if it fails to win a race in the JRA this year. Kozo accepts the request and takes Kurisu to the Miho Training Center to help Royal Fight, the most promising horse, win.
However, Kozo's forcefulness angers the trainer, and they part ways. Kurisu is forced to quickly find a new trainer at Kozo's instruction.
Kurisu meets Kanako (Wakana Matsumoto), his ex-girlfriend who works at a breeding farm and has come to Tokyo for a race for her horses. He hears that there is an excellent trainer named Hironaka (Ando Masanobu) there, so he visits his stables, but...
The story is based on the novel of the same name by Kazuma Hayami. Eiji Kurisu (played by Tsumabuki) admired his father, who was a tax accountant, and tried to follow in his footsteps, but he experienced setbacks and lost hope. However, his life takes a major turn when he meets horse owner Kozo Sanno (played by Koichi Sato).
