The variety show "TEPPEN: Piano Champion vs. New Force! Tonight's New Star is Born SP," which features a piano battle to determine the number one piano player in the entertainment industry, will be broadcast on Fuji TV's "Saturday Premium" slot (Saturdays at 9 p.m.) on October 11th. This is the 31st time the show has aired, and more than half of the 10 challengers are first-time players, with many fresh faces in their teens also appearing.
The comedy trio Neptune will once again serve as MCs for this event, and the judges will include Matsutoya Masataka, Kenji, Kijima Mayu, Sanplaza Nakano-kun, and Harami-chan, with DAIGO and Ami Touma watching the competition as guests.
This year's contest will feature teenage players, including 12-year-old child actor Yodai Ajimoto and the new-generation street piano queen Hachiko-chan, and the new generation is expected to perform well. Megu Tohsaka and Haru will also be looking to take revenge on last year's champion, Yomii, in order to reclaim their title.
Also taking part for the first time will be Kohei Aoki from "Shounen Ninja" and actor Moe Yuki. Aoki has been playing the piano since he was a child, but he can also play the guitar, trumpet, and drums, demonstrating his determination as a "musical elite" as he aims to reach TEPPEN. What will the outcome be in this three-way battle between the "past champions," the "new forces," and the "Revengers"?
In the first stage, players will compete in a serious one-on-one "Mistouch Medley Battle" where they will take on songs of increasing difficulty, from beginner to advanced to god level. The first round sees a fierce battle between last year's champion Yomii and Lala, a high school student whose mother graduated from the Moscow Conservatory. Will this new generation be able to face the absolute champion without flinching? In the second stage, which will determine the fate of the tournament, players will compete for points by performing piano arrangements that they are good at.
In the first stage, Aoki faced off against Ajimoto, the youngest player in the tournament. While nervous, saying "I want this to be a big turning point in my idol life," she performed the assigned songs "Saudade" by Porno Graffitti and "ROMANTIC ga Tomaranai" by CCB. In the second stage, she performed a lively performance of "One Love," a popular song by her senior group, Arashi, with a refreshing piano arrangement.
