A press conference for the TV drama series "Shiawase na Kekkon" (TV Asahi, Thursdays 9pm), which began on July 17th, was held on the same day at the TV Asahi headquarters (Minato Ward, Tokyo), with lead actor Sadao Abe, heroine Takako Matsu, and scriptwriter Shizuka Oishi in attendance.
In the first episode, there was a memorable scene where Matsu's character Nella munched on a croissant. Abe is currently playing the Sokichi Yamura ) in the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan ," so a reporter asked, "Did you release this bread with ' Anpan' in mind?" Oishi replied firmly, "No, that's not it." Abe repeated, "No, that's not it!", drawing laughter from everyone around.
The drama is an original work by Oishi, who also made a name for himself with last year's NHK Taiga drama "To Dear Radiance (Hikaru Kimi e)." Single lawyer Harada Kotaro (Abe) is attracted to and marries a mysterious high school art teacher Suzuki Nerla (Matsu), but Nerla is hiding a serious secret. The drama is a family drama billed as a "marriage suspense" that questions the love between husband and wife.
At the press conference, Oishi said about this work, "This project was conceived with Abe in mind as the lead. Ever since Matsu was chosen, it's been written specifically for the two of them."
