The spinoff "Hoshino's Holiday" of the TV anime " Kaiju No. 8 ", based on the popular manga by Naoya Matsumoto currently being serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump +", will be broadcast on TV Tokyo from 11pm on July 5th. The film was shown at the same time as the first season omnibus, which was released in theaters on March 28th, and will also be streamed in real time worldwide on X.
The story depicts the days off of the defense force members, and Reno, who has forgotten how to spend his days off due to being engrossed in training, senses something unusual about Hoshina, who is also off duty, and decides to follow him with Iharu. Things start to move in an unexpected direction.
" Kaiju No. 8" has been serialized in "Shonen Jump+" since July 2020. Set in Japan, a monster superpower where monsters mercilessly invade everyday life, the story follows the exploits of the protagonist, Kafka Hibino, whose body has been transformed into a monster by a mysterious creature. It also attracted attention in 2021 when it was selected as the winner of the Grand Prize in the Web Manga category of the "Next Manga Awards 2021." The comic has sold over 18 million copies in total in Japan. The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2024. The second season will air every Saturday at 11pm on TV Tokyo from July 19th.
