On June 28th, it was revealed that voice actress Shimamoto Sumi, known for her roles as Nausicaä of the Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind " and Clarice in " Lupin the Third : The UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sundays at 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama Ryusei. She will play Taka, a maid at Tsutaju's (Yokohama's) shop, Nihonbashi Koshodo.
Taka helps out at Koshodo with everyday household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry. Many comic writers and artists gather at the store, and as a member of Koshodo, she supports the store together with Tsutaju and Tei ( AI Hashimoto).
Shimamoto said, "Some of you may know me as a voice actor. Many of the cast members of ' UNBOUND' are people I've worked with in voice projects with, so it's very reassuring. We don't get to meet them very often, though (laughs). There are episodes where I appear without any lines, so please look forward to seeing where I appear."
"UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama, depicting the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have built the foundations of Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, known for "Drama 10 'Ooku'" which was broadcast on NHK two years ago and became a big hit.
