Western-style painter Koji Kinutani appears in "Platinum Family"

"Platinum Family" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 7pm *excluding some areas) is a program that introduces the lifestyle of the "gorgeous family = Platinum Family." On June 24th, a two-hour special will feature the family of Koji Kinutani, a leading Japanese Western-style painter. The program will introduce the huge mansion where 15 people from five households across three generations live under one roof.

In 2021, Kinutani was awarded the Order of Culture and is still active at the age of 82. His talent has been passed down, with his eldest son, Kota, active as a sculptor, and his second daughter, Kanako, invited to Paris, France, as a Japanese painter and active internationally, making them an "artistic family."

The program closely follows the life of the Kinutani family in their huge mansion, located in a high-end residential area in Tokyo. Each of the five households has their own living space, and the living room of the head of the household, Koji and his wife, is on the top floor. The spacious space is so impressive that MC Chisako Takashima exclaims in admiration, "It's so lovely!"

There is also an atelier on the premises, with frescoes that Koji himself painted on the walls. There will also be a collaborative work by the Kinutani family, in which each of the grandchildren painted their favorite picture and the whole family added color to it.

The program will also feature the mansion of the Takabayashi family (Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture), a large village headman that has been in business since the Edo period and is currently in its 26th generation, as well as the luxurious home of a former athlete (Futtsu City, Chiba Prefecture).
