First Summer Uika takes on the role of a cardiovascular surgeon in the Sunday Theatre drama " The 19th medical record " starring Jun Matsumoto

It has been revealed that talent First Summer Uika will be appearing in the July TBS Sunday Theatre drama " The 19th medical record " (Sundays at 9pm) starring Jun Matsumoto . She will play the cardiovascular surgeon Chayasaka Kokoro.

Chayazaka is a star doctor with outstanding skills who works at Uotora General Hospital, just like the main character played by Matsumoto, general practitioner Akira Tokushige. He is one of the most eccentric characters in the hospital, and he is a character who sometimes confuses people because he gets involved with people he is interested in. First Summer Uika is expanding her field of activities as an actor, including the role of Sei Shonagon in the 2024 NHK Taiga drama " Dear Radiance (Hikaru Kimi e)".

In addition to First Summer Uika, nine other unique cast members have been announced as doctors and nurses who work at the same hospital as Tokushige.

Hiroya Shimizu plays Fuka Koshiba, a physician who is in the same class as Mizuki Takino, a novice doctor played by Fuka Koshiba. Kayama is a philosophical thinker who believes that "it is pointless to think about things that you can't find an answer to." For that reason, he seems to be annoyed with Takino, who is honest and struggles between his ideals and reality.

Singer-songwriter Taiiku Okazaki, who has also appeared in numerous productions as an actor, will play the anesthesiologist Osu Tetsuo, Iketani Nobue will play the veteran nurse Toyohashi Akiko, Honda Riki will play the otolaryngologist Hirate Shu, and Matsui Haruna will play the young nurse Seto Maiko.

It was also announced that Tsuda Kanji will play the head of the orthopedic department, Narumi Tatsuya, Ikeda Narushi will play the head of surgery, Togo Rokuro, and Namase Katsuhisa will play Kitano Eikichi, the director of Uotora General Hospital.

The drama is based on the manga "The 19th medical record: Akira Tokushige's Medical Examination" (Zenon Comics/Core Mix) currently being serialized by Katsuhito Fujiya. The drama is based on the theme of "general medicine," the 19th new field added to the 18 specialties such as neurosurgery and ophthalmology, and depicts a general practitioner who not only examines illnesses but also lends a helping hand to the patient's way of life. The script is written by Aya Tsubota, who is known for the "Kounodori" series (TBS).

It has already been announced that Kimura Yoshino will play pediatrician Arimatsu Shiori, Tanaka Min will play Tokushige's mentor Akaike Noboru, and Mackenyu, a surgeon and son of the hospital's chief of surgery, will appear in the film.
