Actor Go Ayano attended the red carpet and premiere event for the movie "Dechiage: The Man Called Murderous Teacher" (directed by Takashi Miike, to be released on June 27th) held in Tokyo on June 16th. He shared an episode with Kazuya Kamenashi, with whom he co-starred for the first time in 14 years in this film.
In the film, there is a scene where Yabushita, played by Ayano, and Narumi, played by Kamenashi, confront each other in the pouring rain. Ayano expressed his gratitude about this scene, saying, "It left a strong impression on me. Facing Kame-chan for the first time in 14 years was actually a similar situation in our previous work together, and we were both thinking about what we could do for this work while confirming each other's growth. I think that if you keep doing it for a long time, you get rewards like this. Personally, it was very moving."
The rain in this scene was not artificial, but a real downpour, and Ayano commented, "It seems he actually summoned a real storm. Kamenashi Kazuya is here." Kamenashi responded, "Well, Arashi is his direct senior. It's a bit complicated, but he kind of came over. I'm grateful," making everyone laugh.
Also appearing at the event were Ko Shibasaki, Okura Koji, Takaya Sakoda, Miura Kira, Kimura Fumino Kimura, Ken Mitsuishi, Kazuki Kitamura, Kobayashi Kaoru, and director Miike.
"Dechiage: The Man Called Murderous Teacher" is a film adaptation of Fukuda Masumi's reportage "Dechiage: The Truth About the Fukuoka 'Murderous Teacher' Case" (Shinchosha), which 20 years ago was the first case in Japan where corporal punishment by a teacher was recognized as bullying of a child and made a serious crime. Elementary school teacher Yabushita (Ayano) is accused by a parent, Ritsuko (Ko Shibasaki), of corporal punishment of a child. Yabushita's daily life falls apart when he becomes a target of the media after a weekly magazine reporter, Narumi (Kazuya Kamenashi), reports him by name. Meanwhile, Ritsuko forms a large legal team of 550 people and files a civil lawsuit... This is the story.
