A new PV for the TV anime "With You and the Rain to" based on the popular manga by Yuki Nikaido currently being serialized in "Young Magazine" (Kodansha) has been released on YouTube. In addition to the main character Fuji and the dog (?) "Kimi" that Fuji picks up, other main characters appear.
It was also announced that singer-songwriter Makiko Suzuki will be in charge of the opening theme "Ame to" and Kei Sugawara will be in charge of the ending theme "filled". The songs were unveiled in the new PV.
Suzuki commented, "After reading the original work, an image immediately came to mind and I was able to start creating it. I think I was able to express Fuji's emotional state through both the lyrics and the music. It has a flat, dry feel! I tried to make it so that you can see the sunshine through the rain! I hope you enjoy the song along with the anime."
Sugawara said, "I was always a big fan of this work, and the humorous daily life of Fuji and you, and the gentle atmosphere that isn't too cheerful, were soothing to me every day. I am truly, truly happy to be involved in such a favorite work. I produced this song together with arranger Naoki Itai. I would be happy if I can convey, through music, at least a little of the feeling I felt from this work, that 'Rain like this could be quite lovely...', as well as the warmth of spending time with someone throughout the four seasons."
The series depicts the heartwarming and precious daily life of a person and a pet who meet on a rainy night. The manga, which was first published on X (Twitter), became a hot topic and was serialized in Young Magazine. The anime will be directed by Tsukimisato Tomohiro, known for works such as Tanuki to Kitsune and Ueno-san wa Bukiyou, and produced by L'ESPRIT. Saori Hayami will play Fuji and Anna Mugiho will play "you". It will be broadcast on TV Asahi's late-night anime slot NUMAnimation from July 5th.
