The short drama app "BUMP" has started distribution of " Azatoku, Kawaiku, Shitatakani ", starring model and actor Asuka Kawazu and former "Nogizaka46" talent Yuki Yoda . In this work, the two play "cunning girls" and engage in a fierce, dark battle. However, when they are away from their roles, they seem to be very good friends... We asked the two, who are co-starring for the first time, about their filming episodes.
A film adaptation of the manga of the same name by Alan Maeda (Bunkasha). The story is about Noriko Enatsu (Kawazu), the "princess of the PR department," who is beautiful, kind, and spares no effort or consideration to be liked. However, with the arrival of new employee Sui Kurihara (Yoda), she loses the popularity of the male employees, including the handsome section chief Shunsuke Kawaguchi (Wada Masanari), and out of anger and a sense of crisis, she bares her rivalry... All 20 episodes are currently available.
--This was your first time acting together and meeting each other, so was there any difference between before and after you acted together?
Kawazu-san: I had an image of her as a "cute doll". I was a bit worried about whether she would talk, but she talked a lot (laughs). She was surreal and funny, and I fell in love with her.
Yoda: I'm so happy! I'm usually shy around people, but Asuka-chan was always smiling and had a gentle impression, so it was easy to talk to her. I wanted to become friends with her! I pushed forward even before we had even talked that much (laughs).
Kawazu-san: We are the same age, and Yoda-chan told me about herself, so we had a lively conversation even right after we met!
--What kind of topics did you have fun talking about?
Yoda: There are so many... some things I can't really tell you (laughs).
Kawazu-san: You're really giving off that vibe (laughs)! But we tell each other about good restaurants. I like alcohol, so I introduced some recommended izakayas. I wondered if Yoda-chan was the type who didn't drink alcohol, but she said, "I drink quite a lot!" So that's what I thought (laughs)! The conversation expanded from there.
Yoda-san: The day after we wrapped up filming, we went to a pub that served delicious horse meat dishes. We're planning to go eat lamb (Genghis Khan) next time. We use LINE almost every day.
Kawazu: We exchange messages like, "I've just arrived at the scene," as if we were writing a one-line diary for each other (laughs).
--They were good friends! I heard the shoot took four days, but you all became really good friends in that short amount of time.
Kawazu-san: I was surprised myself, but I feel like this is the first time we've become this close in just four days. She has a motherly perspective and thinks he's cute, but she's also really fun to be around, and although we both played cunning characters in the drama, we're both really straightforward (laughs). Maybe that's why we got along so well.
Yoda: Both of us are very manly (laughs). We once spent about 10 hours together at karaoke. We barely sang, we just talked the whole time. I've never had a friend that I could keep in touch with every day like this. I'm so happy that we became good friends! Asuka-chan is currently working far away, so I'd like to meet her soon (privately).
--In the play, you see a fierce and dark battle. The scene where Noriko gets angry and hits Sui against the wall was also memorable.
Yoda: It wasn't a particularly heart-fluttering scene, but it was my first "kabedon" (wall-don).
Kawazu: Our faces were quite close in the photo, so when the camera wasn't rolling we were both looking down out of embarrassment (laughs).
--Finally, please tell us what the highlights of this work are.
Kawazu: It's a very refreshing and refreshing piece to watch! Another highlight is how it turns into a "buddy story" partway through.
Yoda-san: As Asuka-chan said, it's a drama that leaves you feeling refreshed after watching it. Recently, songs with the theme of "cute" seem to be trending, but I think the content of this drama makes you think, "What is cute?"
