The anime music video for "Kusushiki," the opening theme for the TV anime " The Apothecary Diaries " by the band " Mrs. Green Apple ," premiered on the TOHO animation YouTube channel on June 13th at 11:30pm after the broadcast of episode 46, "Forbidden Army." Mrs. Green Apple's Motoki Omori commented that the song was created with the theme of "love that transcends this life and remains unchanged even in the next." With the theme of "love," the music video is made up of footage from the anime and expresses the relationships between Maomao and Jinshi, and Maomao and Loulan (Zicui).
The light novel version of "The Apothecary Diaries" is published by Hero Bunko (Imagine Infos), and the comic adaptation is also gaining popularity. The original series has sold over 40 million copies in total. The story is set in a glamorous harem on a certain continent, where a poison taster girl named Maomao and the handsome harem manager Jinshi become embroiled in an incident that occurs in the harem, which is full of conspiracies and rumors. The first season of the TV anime aired on Nippon TV from October 2023 to March 2024.
