The Tokyo performance of the one-man tour of "Penthouse," a six-member city soul band from a club at the University of Tokyo, will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW in September. In conjunction with this, "Penthouse & Hayato Sumino Serial Special," which will feature the band and one of its members, pianist Hayato Sumino , who also works under the name "Cateen," will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW from August to October.
In August, the program will broadcast and stream a special episode of Kadono Hayato's solo performance at Nippon Budokan (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) held on July 14, 2024, his last birthday in his 20s, under the title " Hayato Sumino Piano Recital at Nippon Budokan Special Edition." Valuable behind-the-scenes footage will also be included.
In September, the special will feature Penthouse's solo tour "Penthouse ONE MANLIVE TOUR 2025 "Midnight Diner"". The solo tour was held in five cities nationwide and Taipei in May and June this year, and the live performance held at Tokyo International Forum Hall A (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) on June 12th will be recorded.
In the same month, a program titled "Welcome to Penthouse ~ Special Interview with City Soul Band Members" will also be broadcast and streamed. The six members, who met in a music club at the University of Tokyo, will talk in detail about their history since forming the band in 2018, the appeal and background of their own music, and their outlook for the future.
In October, they will broadcast and stream a one-night-only live concert titled "Penthouse ONE MAN LIVE 2024 "Laundry"" held at the National Hall of Pacifico Yokohama (Nishi-ku, Yokohama) on December 19th last year.
After all four programs have aired, they will be archived and available for a limited period of one month on WOWOW On Demand (only Kadono's program will be available for two weeks).
Penthouse is a six-member band with twin vocals by Shintaro Namioka and Maho Oshima, and with Kadono's keyboard skills at its core. The band made its major debut in 2021 as a "city soul" band with a sophisticated urban sound. Kadono won the Special Grand Prix at the PTNA Piano Competition in 2018 while studying at the University of Tokyo Graduate School, and was a semi-finalist at the Chopin International Piano Competition in 2021.
