It has been announced that Futo Nozomi, a former top star of the Snow Troupe of the Takarazuka Revue, will appear in the drama series "The Kidnapping Day" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 9pm) which starts on July 8th. This will be the first time that Nozomi, who left the troupe in 2021, will appear in a terrestrial TV drama series. He will play Fujisawa Kaori, the head nurse at Eishin Memorial Hospital, where Mei, the daughter of the main character Shinjo Masamune (Saito Takumi), is hospitalized.
The film is based on the popular Korean drama of the same name (2023). Shinjo, who turns to kidnapping to cover the cost of his daughter's surgery for heart disease, and the kidnapped amnesiac genius girl Nanase Rin (Nagao Yuno) go on the run while being pursued by unidentified men.
Nozomi commented, "After I heard about the role, I watched the Korean version and found it very interesting, and I became more and more drawn into the story. I was very happy to be a part of the production, and to see how it would be remade into a Japanese version."
The character, Fujisawa Kaori, encounters Shinjo in a difficult situation and becomes embroiled in the escape, but she said, "Although he can be strict as the head nurse, I think he is a compassionate person. It's a fast-paced mystery, but it also warms the heart; it's a truly human mystery! Fujisawa, the character I play, will also be moved by Shinjo's feelings for his daughter... I hope you'll look forward to it!"
