Kyoko Koizumi and Kiichi Nakai co-star in the Fuji TV Getsuku drama "Second to Last Love 3" (Mondays at 9pm). The synopsis and stills from the 9th episode, which will air on June Getsuku, have been released.
On the day that he has promised to tell the mayor of Kamakura, Ryoko Isayama (Rie Shibata), whether he will run for mayor or decline the election, Wahei Nagakura (Nakai) goes to see Isayama. Holding a bouquet of flowers to celebrate the mayor's birthday, Wahei confides his feelings.
Meanwhile, on a high mountain in Kamakura, Nagakura Shinpei (played by Sakaguchi Kenji) and Nagakura Mariko (played by Uchida Yuki) are reminiscing about their childhood, as twins would. Having fully recovered from his illness, Nagakura invites Mariko on a long-cherished "adventure trip" that he was unable to take as a child due to his illness.
Mahira, who had lived with the thought that "I might die today," tells Mariko about his confusion now that he's recovered. Mariko sympathizes, saying, "It's scary when something suddenly changes."
Yoshino Chiaki (Koizumi) received a proposal for a new "Getsuku" drama from Mariko, along with a letter in which she expressed her thoughts.
The Nagakura family gathered at Cafe Nagakura, and Chiaki also arrived. Wahei hosted a takoyaki party. The main topic was about his secret candidacy for mayor, which he had kept from everyone. Wahei confessed the circumstances and his feelings about it, drawing the attention of his family and Chiaki.
Unaware of this, Naruse Senji (Miura Tomokazu) and Hayata Ritsuko (Ishida Hikari) bump into each other at a soba restaurant. Naturally, the conversation turns to Chiaki and Wahei, who have brought about change in them...
The script was written by Yoshikazu Okada, who also wrote the first and second seasons. Set in Kamakura, the story depicts the love between a TV station producer played by Koizumi and a Kamakura city employee played by Nakai. The theme song is also sung by Ayumi Hamasaki, as in the third season.
