Highlights of the second half of the drama series "W I, KILL" (WOWOW, Sundays at 10pm), starring actress Fumino Kimura and Juri Tanaka of the popular group SixTONES, have been revealed.
With an eye on overseas markets, this is a collaboration between cutting-edge creators and the top-class staff of the traditional Shochiku Kyoto Studio, creating a "historical spectacle x full-scale survival thriller from Kyoto." The story is set 35 years after the Battle of Sekigahara, and as monsters known as "Gunkyo" attack people, Kimura plays the role of Orin, a former ninja who confronts the monsters, while Tanaka plays the role of Shiro, a mysterious man who has become a Gunkyo while still maintaining his human consciousness.
O-Rin had a big regret and ran away from her mother, Hisame, who was the leader of the ninjas, and was living a peaceful life, but that peace was destroyed by a group of villains. In the second half of the film, the action of O-Rin who awakens to Shura again will be a highlight.
In the third episode, which will be broadcast and streamed on June 1, it will be revealed that the shogun Tokugawa Iemitsu, whose real face has not been revealed until now, and the half-villain Shiro are identical in appearance. The mystery of Shiro, who is on a journey to learn about his past and roots, will gradually be revealed. This will be Tanaka's first time playing two roles, and also the first time he will show off his "sakayaki" look, with his hair shaved from his forehead to the top of his head.
Sakura, a key character in the second half of the film, appears, who has a huge influence on Orin in this desperate situation. Sakura, played by Moeka Hoshi, winner of the Critics' Choice Award for her role in the popular film "SHOGUN," is held captive by the shogunate as a female prisoner. Sakura, a mother who misses her child far away, and Orin connect with each other, but... this plot is sure to be a hot topic.
"The serial drama W I, KILL" will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW Prime and WOWOW On Demand every Sunday from 10pm. The first episode will be streamed for free on WOWOW On Demand and the official YouTube channel.
