It has been announced that entertainer Sayaka Isoyama will be appearing in the Ibaraki version of the NHK drama "Kotokoto: A Journey to Meet Delicious Hearts," starring Yudai Furukawa. Isoyama, who is originally from Ibaraki Prefecture, where the drama is set, commented, "As a native of Ibaraki, I am very happy to be appearing in the Ibaraki version of Kotokoto. I hope to be able to convey the warmth of human relationships along with the sweet potatoes that Ibaraki is so proud of. This drama is 100% Ibaraki! I hope it will reach a lot of people."
"Kotokoto: A Journey to Meet Delicious Spirits" is a soup human drama in which the protagonist, Yuki Hiroto, played by Furukawa Yudai, travels around Japan in search of delicious ingredients, and by coming into contact with the ingredients grown in the places he visits and the hearts of the people who live there, he creates soups unique to each region.
In the Ibaraki chapter, Hiroto's "soup project" that he had been submitting to a local product exhibition is in danger of being canceled. Aiming to develop an original soup that will save the day, he heads to Ibaraki Prefecture with his "mismatched duo" Susumu Nemoto (Hiroki Miyake). Isoyama plays Yukie, the wife of the Takahashi family, farmers of "Namegata sweet potato," who is caught between her husband and daughter.
In addition, Kadota, a director of JA Namegata who is working hard to popularize "Namegata Kansho", announced that child actor Sugita Kaoru, Kaneko Takenori, Taki Nanami, Takezai Terunosuke, Takahashi Tsutomu, Kurosawa Kazuko, and Honda Hirotaro will also appear.
Chief director Nakaizumi Satoshi said, "What does it mean to produce a drama set in a local area in this day and age? What significance can it have? I have been thinking about these things while directing the Gunma and Ibaraki versions. I would like to deliver a rich, interesting drama to the whole country, with the utmost respect, courtesy, and intelligence to the people who live in the area. Please look forward to it."
The drama will be broadcast on NHK BS and BS Premium 4K at 10pm on August 24th.
