Stills and a Teaser trailer for the movie "Black Showman" (directed by Ryo Tanaka, to be released on September 12, 2025), starring singer and actor Masaharu Fukuyama and co-starring Kasumi Arimura, have been released. In addition, comments from Fukuyama and Arimura have arrived, with the film wrapping up in late May.
The movie is based on a novel by Higashino Keigo. Former junior high school teacher Kamio Eiichi is murdered by someone, and his daughter Kamio Mayo (Arimura), who is due to get married in two months, receives the sudden news of his death and returns to her hometown. Wanting to know the truth about why Eiichi had to be killed, her uncle Kamio Takeshi (Fukuyama) appears before her. Takeshi, a former magician who was once famous in Las Vegas, takes on the mystery of the murder with his excellent magic tricks, bad habits, and mentalist-level skill at observing people and leading questions.
The released stills include Takeshi performing a magic trick at Eiichi's funeral, Mayu in a gorgeous wedding dress, and the two of them talking about the incident that Eiichi got caught up in.
The Teaser trailer shows Takeshi's fearlessness, using any means necessary even when dealing with the police, as well as Mayu's sudden appearance in a pure white wedding dress and with a happy smile just before her wedding, when she receives news of her father's death.

The catchphrase for the character Kamio Takeshi, who I played in this film, is "A new era of dark hero." This film is packed with magic, costumes, sword fighting, and more. I was able to enjoy each and every expression while filming. I feel that I was able to broaden the scope of my expression by being given the opportunity to take on a new character, the "dark hero."
Arimura-san, who co-starred with me for the first time, gave a convincing performance from the start of filming. I think the scene of silent tears was a high hurdle to shoot on the first day, but Arimura-san performed it beautifully. I feel that Arimura-san's acting gives this film a sense of reality. I think "The Black Showman" is a work that sublimates the social issues facing modern Japan into entertainment as brilliantly as magic. Please go see it at the theater.

During filming, I was constantly thinking about Eiichi, the father of Mayo, the character I played, so I feel like I've finally been set free. Fukuyama-san was very friendly and confronted me, so I felt like the distance between us got closer and closer as filming progressed, and I naturally became more comfortable with my acting, so I think we became a good buddy.
"Black Showman" is a very sad story that takes place in a quiet town. I think it's a film that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, so I hope you'll enjoy this worldview at the cinema, and the magic of Takeshi Kamio, who plays Fukuyama, is also amazing, so please pay attention to it.
