It has been revealed that model and actor Honda Tsubasa will star in the Kansai TV/Fuji TV drama series "Kita-kun is too cute for me to handle, so I decided to share it with the three of us" (Tuesdays at 11pm), which will start on July 1st. This will be Honda's first lead role in a drama series in about three years since "Kimi no Hana ni Naru" (TBS), and her first time starring in a Kansai TV/Fuji TV series.
The original work is a manga of the same name by Sakaki Kotsubu, currently being serialized in "JOUR" (Futabasha). Three girls, nurse Asada Minami (Honda), bakery employee Hiruma Toko (Shida Mirai), and bookstore employee Nishino Haru (Masuko Atsuki), fall in love with Manaka Kita (Iwase Hiroshi), also known as "Natural Born Angel Kita-kun," who has a mysterious charm that captivates everyone regardless of age or gender. In order to prevent any more love rivals from arising, they form the "33% Club" to share Kita-kun's love in thirds each. This is a shared love comedy in which the four of them live together with Kita-kun.
Honda plays Minami Asada, a nurse who boasts good looks and has a straightforward personality with plenty of romantic experience. One day, she meets Kita-kun at the hospital where she works and falls in love at first sight. She forms the "33% Club" with Touko and Nishino, and the three of them share Kita-kun and live together. She is a playful and free-spirited character who tries to have Kita-kun all to herself whenever she gets the chance.
Shida plays Hiruma Touko, a bakery employee who loves cooking and is a serious girl with a strong point. She moved to Tokyo after turning 30 and is working hard every day to become a baker. She is happiest when she cooks for Kita-kun, and she is a kind of mediator who is considerate of those around her, making her an indispensable presence in the life of the four of them together.
Masuko plays Nishino Haruka, who meets Kita-kun at the bookstore where she works and falls in love with him. Nishino loves books and manga and enjoys cosplaying as her favorite characters. She has a cool personality and an otaku temperament, but after a certain incident, she becomes distrustful of women.
And the man who receives the affections of the three, Manaka Kita, also known as "Kita-kun" played by Iwase, is a "natural born angel" who is loved by everyone, regardless of gender. Although Kita-kun accepts others and embraces everything, everything about him, including his family structure and past, is shrouded in mystery.
Honda commented, "When I heard about the role I immediately read the original work, and I thought, 'They are trying to bring something amazing to screen.' I felt it was quite modern, and like no other romance drama I'd seen up until now, it was a drama with a new feel. It's a well-paced work that will make you empathize, warm your heart, and even make you chuckle, so I hope many people will watch it."
