On May 25th, it was announced that Wakana Yanai's manga "Cinderella Closet," which was serialized in "Bessatsu Margaret" (Shueisha), will be adapted into a live-action TV drama. It will be broadcast in July on TBS's late-night drama slot "Drama Stream" (Tuesdays at 12:58am).
"Cinderella Closet" is a youthful love story that encourages those who want to "live life true to themselves" and those who are working hard. The protagonist, Haruka, moves to Tokyo with dreams of a fashionable college life, but she cannot fit in at all with the glittering atmosphere of college and feels depressed every day. One day, she is suddenly invited to dinner by a senior student she admires, but Haruka, who only has jeans and a tattered T-shirt, has no clothes to wear and no knowledge of makeup. Just when she is in despair, a mysterious and stunningly beautiful woman named Hikaru comes to her rescue. However, Hikaru has a "secret"... This is the story.
Influenced by makeup, fashion, her admired senior classmate, and the people she meets, Haruka gradually gains confidence and begins to shine, and the thoughts that arise as she interacts with Haruka have captivated readers, garnering support in digital comics and making this a popular manga that is still loved by many readers even after the serialization has ended.

When I heard about the story being adapted into a TV drama, I was like, "Yay!" and immediately afterwards I was like, "How on earth are they going to turn this story into 3D...?" and honestly I had a really puzzled look on my face. The people producing the drama worked really hard on something that even the author couldn't have imagined, and the world of "synchronization" has become a reality. I'm really looking forward to readers and viewers who will discover it for the first time through the drama watching it together.
