A new trailer and stills for "A Town with Storehouses" (directed by Emiko Hiramatsu), the first film starring professional figure skater Daisuke Takahashi, were released on April 25th. Takahashi and co-stars Soma Santoki and Runa Nakajima also appear.
The film is set in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, where traditional streetscapes remain. High school students Ao (Yamatoki), Norikazu (Sakurai Kento), and Beniko (Nakajima) have been friends since elementary school. One day, Ao and Norikazu come across Beniko's older brother Kyon-kun (Horie Kazuki), who has autism spectrum disorder, making a fuss while climbing a large tree at the town's shrine. In an attempt to get Kyon-kun down from the tree and reassure Beniko, they quickly promise to "show us fireworks here next time," but...
The trailer shows Ao, Inori, and Beniko running around trying to set off the promised fireworks, as well as the people who live in the town, including the curator Kojo (Takahashi), who supports their challenge, the cafe owner Senta (Tomoya Maeno), and Beniko's mother Natsuko (MEGUMI). New stills also show Ao and Inori meeting Beniko in the shrine grounds, and Kojo picking up a photo that Beniko had dropped.
The film will be released in Kurashiki on July 25th, and will be released nationwide on August 22nd.
