It has been revealed that comedian Bakarhythm is writing the script for the film "Beethoven Fabrication" (directed by Seki Kazuaki, to be released on September 12th), which focuses on the biggest scandal in music history surrounding the "musical genius" Beethoven. Yuki Yamada plays Schindler, the secretary who is said to have fabricated Beethoven's character after his death, and Furuta Arata plays Beethoven himself.
The original work is Shiho Kagehara's historical non-fiction book "Beethoven Fabrication: A Famous Producer Lies" (Kawade Bunko), which focuses on the scandal of Schindler, Beethoven's secretary and posthumous biography writer, extensively altering Beethoven's conversation book after he lost his hearing.
Beethoven was a holy and solitary genius who overcame the incurable disease of hearing loss and left behind many masterpieces that are etched in history. However, in reality he was a vulgar and dirty old man... The story goes that Schindler, a loyal secretary played by Yamada, is driven by a sense of mission to protect his idol, played by Furuta, and after his death, he struggles to transform Beethoven from a "vulgar and dirty old man (truth)" into a "holy and genius musician (lie)."
In this work, cutting-edge virtual production shooting was carried out, where a 3DCG background is displayed on a large LED display and the subject is filmed in front of it. By shooting the virtual background as if it were a real location, 19th century Vienna is reproduced while staying in Japan. In addition, Beethoven's masterpieces are used abundantly in the film. Beethoven's music listened to with the sound of the movie theater is also a point.
Bakarhythm commented, "Kagehara-sensei's original work was very interesting, and I wrote it through trial and error to figure out how to fit this epic story into a single film.I think that Director Seki's direction and the actors' performances have made it a wonderful film."
Yamada said, "The script was written by Bakarhythm, and the director, staff, and cast all had a lot of fun and laughed together while making this movie," and Furuta said, "Bakari-chan's script is interesting, the director's filming style is interesting, and the lead actor Yuki gives a very entertaining performance. Please come to the theater."
